As a full-time student, Ms. Cheromiah has always demonstrated a strong commitment to her education, seeing it as a vehicle to not only advance her own educational goals, but also as a means for advancing the wellbeing of her tribal community and inspiring others to pursue higher education. She exhibits this consistently, creatively, and with great passion. As such, she has served as an exceptional role model to Native SOAR (Student Outreach, Access and Resiliency) students, both inspiring college attainment among participants and modeling the journey for them as well.

I find Amanda to be a top student who has committed herself wholeheartedly to Native American student success. She is an outstanding student, mentor, and member of the Native American community at the UA and at large. She is soon to be a graduate of the Higher Education PhD program at the UA, where she will further her education and passion for supporting this population’s college student access and success, through both her research and the Native SOAR program.
