On February 29th and March 1st, MIT Solve hosted Indigenous and non-Indigenous people from the US and Canada in Tucson, Arizona to bring attention to the technology and innovations of Indigenous peoples.

University of Arizona Law Professor Robert A. Williams, Jr. featured prominently in the Anti-Racism Live 2024 event organized by Peace One Day.

You are invited to join this two day symposium on Thursday March 21 to Friday March 22 exploring the intersections of racism, colonialism and conservation and calling for an environmental justice movement based on Indigenous Peoples Human Rights.

Dr. Martinez will share her work with cultural fire practitioners through a partnership that UC Davis has with Diana Almendariz (Wintun) and Ron Goode (North Fork Mono). She will also discuss how this partnership has been impactful for their graduate and undergraduate students who have had the opportunity to learn and work with Ron and Diana through this partnership.

Being offered for the first time, this innovative course will be led by staff and members of the Advisory Council of the Initiative on Indigenous Peoples Affected by Protected Areas and Other Conservation Measures, a project of the Indigenous Peoples Law & Policy Program (IPLP).

The Rockefeller Foundation commits a grant to support the University of Arizona for a project aimed at revitalizing tribal foodways in the Southwest by scaling up native, nutrient-dense, and climate-smart seeds, and promoting regenerative practices.

The Rockefeller Foundation’s climate strategy will pave the way for inclusivity for those Indigenous Communities, who will be most negatively impacted by increasing climatic fluctuations, by providing them with a number of vital resources.

In the last week of January, 2024  the UA AIR Climate Adaptation Research Program hosted a meeting with their partner institutions including visitors representing USAID, Stellenbosch University, Consejo Superior Universitario Centroamericano, Auckland University of Technology, and the FAPESP.
