Outstanding Native American Undergraduate Student Award, 2020-2021

Ms. Morgan is a member of the Navajo Nation and her hometown is Tuba City. Ms. Morgan reflected recently to me how the UA was the only university she applied to as she was certain it was the right place for her growth and learning. Four years later, she is confident in her decision and is a strong advocate for the Wildcats. Ms. Morgan often inquires with her friends, family, and community members about their college plans, and she’ll kindly tease those who wear the ‘wrong’ school’s branded t-shirts. Ms. Morgan makes it clear that the UA is the best place to be. She intends to make meaningful contributions in the fields of medicine and epidemiological research, with a focus on serving tribal communities. Her interest in this work was solidified during her college experiences of shadowing scientists in the Arizona Cancer Center and while creating health outcome reports and presentations for tribal leaders while interning in the summer of 2018 with the Rocky Mountain Tribal Epidemiology Center.
